Mahalo Banking - SMS short code Terms and Conditions

Effective June 1st. 2025

Mahalo Banking provides secure digital banking technology on behalf of participating credit unions. As part of our service, we deliver
SMS-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) codes to help verify your identity when logging into your credit union’s digital banking platform.

Program Description
By using your credit union’s online or mobile banking platform, you may receive SMS text messages containing one-time passcodes (OTP) for authentication.
These messages are triggered by your login activity and are used solely for security verification.

Short Code Use

All MFA messages are delivered via a dedicated SMS short code. This short code is used only for sending OTP messages for secure login.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on your login behavior. Generally, one message is sent per phone number per login attempt requiring verification.

Cost

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.

Opt-Out (STOP Command)
You can opt out of receiving MFA SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from our short code. Upon doing so:
- SMS delivery of MFA codes will be suspended for your phone number.

To re-enable SMS delivery, you must send the command START.

Note: Disabling SMS MFA may impact your ability to access certain digital banking services.

Help (HELP Command)
Replying HELP will return an automated message explaining:
- How to opt out of SMS (reply STOP),
- That the messages are for secure login purposes only,
- How to contact your credit union for assistance.

For additional help, please also contact Mahalo Support through your support portal if available.
